Privacy Policy

Introduction

We have created this statement to demonstrate our firm commitment to your privacy.  We do not collect personally identifying information about you when you visit our site, unless you choose to provide such information to us. Providing such information is strictly voluntary.  This policy is your guide to how we will handle information we learn about you from your visit to our web site.

Any changes to this privacy policy will be posted on this page.  It was last updated on 22 January 2016.

1.    Use of Links

It is important for you to appreciate that this web site provides extensive links to other independent sites, both within the College and University and elsewhere.  This policy applies only to direct access to the Corpus Christi Alumni and Development web site – URLs starting www.corpuscambridge.com.  You will need to consult the appropriate information on other sites for information on their policies.  We take no responsibility for, and exercise no control over, the organisations, views, or accuracy of the information contained on other servers.

2.    Reading or Downloading

We collect and store only the following information about you: the name of the domain from which you access the Internet, the date and time you access our site, and the Internet address of the Web site from which you linked to our site.  We use the information we collect to measure the number of visitors to the different sections of our site, and to help us make our site more useful to visitors.

3.    The use of cookies on our web site

We only use cookies on this web site if you have logged in to your online profile.  A cookie is a file that stores information on your computer hard drive or browser.  When you are logged in, Blackbaud NetCommunity uses cookies for forms authentication in ASP.NET.  The 'Remember Me' functionality on the User Login Form uses cookies to maintain login credentials during the browser session, so that you do not have to log in each time when you visit different pages on our site.

4.    Online Profile Updates and Donations

If you complete the Profile update form and share your personally identifying information, this information may be used to provide you with more targeted content.  We may use your contact information to send further information about Corpus news, fundraising campaigns and events or to contact you when necessary.  You may always opt-out of receiving future mailings; see the "Opt Out" section below.

5.    Sending us an Email

You also may decide to send us personally identifying information, for example, in an electronic mail message containing a question or comment, or by filling out a web form that provides us this information.  We use personally identifying information from email primarily to respond to your requests.  We may forward your email to other College or University staff who are better able to answer your questions.  We may also use your email to contact you in the future about Corpus news, campaigns or events that may be of interest.
We will not obtain personally identifying information about you when you visit our site, unless you choose to provide such information to us. Providing such information is strictly voluntary.  Except as might be required by law, we do not share any information we receive, your name or email address with any outside parties, with the exception of contracted consultants working on projects within the College.  All such contracted consultants sign confidentiality agreements and these contracts confirm their agreement to treat all data in the strictest confidence, and not to pass any data on to a third party without prior authorisation.  All data held and stored by consultants is deleted on completion of the contracted project work.

6.    Opt-Out or Change Your Contact Information

Our site provides users the opportunity to opt-out of receiving communications from us through a special online form.  You may also update your contact information previously provided to us through another online form.  You cannot remove yourself from our database, but you can prevent unwanted communication.

7.    Security

Blackbaud NetCommunity, which hosts www.corpuscambridge.com, has validated compliance with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) and the Payment Application Data Security Standard (PA-DSS).

Our site, www.corpuscambridge.com, has a valid SSL certificate provided by GeoTrust Inc.  This means that data exchanged between the website visitor's web browser and the web server is encrypted, so that even if a third-party were to somehow intercept that data, they would be unable to decrypt and read it.  The SSL certificate also allows the user to verify the web site's identity, as web browsers may detect and warn the website visitor if the web server responding to their browser requests does not appear to be the site they are requesting.

Personal details such as names and contact information are not stored on the Blackbaud NetCommunity database for the website, but are stored on our Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge database at Corpus.  When personal information is displayed on the site, this is pulled from our database using a secure connection with a valid SSL certificate.  When this information is then transmitted to a user’s browser, it is encrypted by our website's SSL certificate.

Login details for www.corpuscambridge.com are encrypted using triple DES encryption.

If you have any questions about the security of our site, please do not hesitate to contact development@corpus.cam.ac.uk
